Nominon, "Recremation"
If it is not 1996, Nominon certainly did not get the memo. Straight from the desk of Dismember, Recremation is nine thick-bottomed assaults of glorious Swedeath. Slugging it out since 1993, yet only sporting Recremation as the second full length-proper, these hirsute Swedes are worth their weight in leather and spikes; opener “Submit to Evil” conquers immediately with its dirty fucking sludge, beautiful dank Stockholm melody and Daniel Garptoft’s roaring death rattle. Definitely schooled by their peers, Nominon pulls no punches in effortlessly standing toe to toe with brothers Entombed, Carnage, Nihilist and the like. The excellent opening riff in “Buried by Me” is ever so simple yet insanely effective. The music of Nominon takes everything great from their peers, cuts out the bullshit, takes an otherwise loose, organic production and makes Recremation a hidden Scandinavian gem. The evil slow part and gurgling vokilling in the middle of “The End Written in Blood” is especially ace.
